In Ballstad's most sunny location you will find the Solsiden Pier. Ballstad is well known for its beautiful scenery as well as the traditional fishery. The pier's location is sheltered from traffic, is very peaceful and offers 8 apartments of high standard. |  |
Cosy self-service apartments with all modern conveniences and a wonderful wiev towards the sea and the mountains. The facilities in general: Shower, colour-TV, DVD and CD-player, radio, a space for gutting/cleaning fish, a longue, a parking lot, linen, separate bedrooms, WC and a freezer. The kitchen has a cooker, a sink and dining area. In addition we have a boat with outboard engine and a kayak for rental. There is a grocery 500 metres from from the facilities and a restaurant/pub 5 minutes by boat.
The exterior of the old buildings are kept in the traditional style and the pier is situated between two fishery landing facilities. The facility has a floating stage. At the pier you will find the fishing vessel the "Vibeke" which can take 9 passengers. It can take you on fishing trips twice a day if you make arrangements in advance. The sea eagle is likely to pick up fish you throw over board and is a spectacular experience.
If you wish to hike, there is a marked trail towards Ballstadheia (200m) and the Nonstind (459m). From this peak you have a wonderful wiev towards the Skottind (671m).
