The Red House is a cosy wooden house with character, right by the sea 23km north-east of Tromsø. Suitable for 2-5 (6) people – two bedrooms, two lounges, kitchen, bathroom and outside area. Avilable also for day rental from May 01 to August 31. Only weekly rentals througout the rest of the year. |  |
"Det røde huset" ("The red house") dates back to 1889, and has been renovated, and furnished in a unique style. Set in a country courtyard which consists of a main house, a garage and a small workshop (for restoring old furniture), "Det røde huset" has outdoor seating areas and stunning views of the sea shore just 40 m in front of the house.
The first floor sitting room has a magnificent view of the shoreline, the midnight sun, the islands and the ocean beyond.
The house consists of two floors. The ground floor has a lounge and sleeping alcove with 2 beds, a kitchen fully equipped for 5 people and a shower-room/toilet.
On the first floor there is a sitting room and a spacious bedroom with 3 beds. Det røde huset is a good alternative for families, small groups of friends (< 6 people) and especially for couples wanting a quiet 'base' for their excursions in the area around Tromsø.
How to find us:
By Car:
From Tromsø over the bridge of Tromsø,
follow signs for Skittenelv. From the sign
saying Vågnes it is approximately 3.5 km
to "Det røde huset".
By Bus:
Take the bus marked "rute 450" from
Prostneset in central Tromsø. Our stop is
Skittenelv School.
